ChemE Cube

In January 2023, five of our chemical engineering undergraduates came together under the guidance of Professor Jochen Lauterbach to form USC's ChemE Cube Team. They worked tirelessly for 11 months to design and build a cube that captured carbon dioxide from the ambient air. In November 2023, our ChemE Cube Team competed at the AIChE National Conference against 10 other schools. They won the First Place Award for the most effective design, capturing 100% of the carbon dioxide from the ambient air. They also won the Entrepreneur Award, which was given to the team with the best business pitch. We are so proud of them!!
